These photo galleries include magic conventions, magician friends and colleagues, and more, along with a feature gallery and commentary from the season I served as a writer and magic designer for the Penn & Teller television series, Sin City Spectacular on the FX Channel.

2020

Memories from 2020.

2005-2019

A collection of photos and memories for the past decade and beyond.

Sin City

We had a lot of terrific guests – well over two hundred in 24 episodes -- on Penn & Teller's Sin City Spectacular, the weekly hour-long variety show they did for the FX cable network, and on which I worked as a writer, chief magic consultant, and co-producer of the Penn & Teller segments. I rarely found the time to grab a camera and take a snapshot, but here are a few that I did manage. All these folks were genuinely terrific to work with – or they sure wouldn't be pictured here!

Magic Conventions

Here are some snapshots of magician friends taken in recent years. Some are associated with convention appearances. Over the years I've performed and/or lectured at many magic conventions around the world.

Friends and Magi

A small scrapbook of friends and magicians with photos taken from the 1990s through 2003.

Rockies and McBride

A collection of memories from Magic in the Rockies and Jeff McBride.

The Today Show

The Today Show -- My first appearance on The Today Show was August of 2001, and I made a return appearance on November 5, 2002. It's always a memorable experience, and of all the television I've done, there's nothing quite like this show for excitement, due to the pressures of live television and the constant changes invariably being made right down to the last moment.

Martin Gardner

In early 2004, I was chatting via email with my longtime friend, colleague, and hero, James "The Amazing" Randi. Randi was talking about visiting his old friend, Martin Gardner, the brilliant polymath and prolific author on things mathematical, magical, skeptical, and more.

Amazing Meeting

In January of 2003, Randi's organization, the James Randi Education Foundation (JREF) hosted its first "The Amazing Meeting" conference in Florida, near the foundation's headquarters, where I hosted and performed on the opening night program. In 2004, The Amazing Meeting 2 moved to Las Vegas, where I again appeared on stage for the opening night.

Tamariz

On October 5, 2004, I traveled to Allentown, Pennsylvania, along with my friend, the talented young sleight-of-hand artist, Kostya Kimlat, in order to spend several days with Juan Tamariz. Juan was appearing as part of The Theory of Art and Magic program at Muhlenberg College, a series that was founded in 1999 by Dr. Lawrence Hass, philosopher and magician.
