The producers of Monday Night Magic present:

Magic: Close-up in Concert

at the famed Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center

"Card tricks may sound passe, but when Swiss holds the deck, jaded attitudes about pick-a-card-any-card rigamarole must be tossed aside. ... dizzying routines that will make your jaw drop. ... Swiss' genius lies in his ability to trick you into thinking you can follow his train of thought. Actually, he's just guiding yours along."

"You will be mesmerized by both the view of Manhattan and by the main attraction, world-class master of sleight-of-hand magic, Jamy Ian Swiss. Â.He wants his viewers to see that he really does magic. Â. But can they explain how Swiss correctly guesses the number and suit of a card that an audience member simply thinks of and never says it out loud? On top of his magical dexterity, this ability to read minds astounds!"

"Stunning!" - New York Press

"A virtuoso peformance. I was exhalted and exhausted and filled with wonder. Jamy is skilled at a level we ordinarily associate with great musical artists. Wonderful!"
-- Arthur Penn

Magic: Close-Up in Concert is a solo concert of intimate magic presented in the lavish surroundings of a private Aert Deco salon in the world famous Rainbow Room. Seamlessly blending wit and unmatched dexterity, Jamy Ian Swiss will enchant you -- as seen in countless TV appearances including PBS Art of Magic, CBS 48 Hours, and The Today Show. Magic: Close-Up in Concert is an unforgettable evening of magic like you have never seen before!

Jamy Ian Swiss Â- an Â"astonishing close-up magician!Â" according to Vanity Fair Â- will entertain, astound, mystify, baffle, and utterly amaze an audience seated within inches of the action. The impossible and even the unimaginable will unfold with the simplest of objects: coins, cups, balls, and especially, an ordinary deck of 52 playing cards. No trick photography or TV editing Â- just an hour of stunning and sophisticated entertainment: magic, close-up!

"The first time I saw Jamy Ian Swiss perform magic I knew I was in the spell of a master. Once you've seen him you'll marvel at his magic for the rest of your life!"
-- Robin Leach

An acclaimed master of the challenging art of close-up magic, Jamy Ian Swiss has performed throughout the United States for presenters ranging from Fortune 500 companies to the Smithsonian Institution (where he lectured as a part of their Masters of Magic program). He has lectured to magicians in 13 countries, and made numerous television appearances in the United States, Europe, and Japan, including on The Today Show, CBS 48 Hours, Comedy Central, CNN Sonya Live, PBS Nova and the PBS documentary, The Art of Magic.

Swiss is the co-author of The Art of Magic, the companion book to the PBS special; he contributes a monthly book review column to Genii, the Conjurors’ Magazine; and a collection of his essays on the art and craft of magic, entitled Shattering Illusions, will be published later this year. He was a writer and chief magic designer for Penn & Teller's Sin City Spectacular on Fox's FX Network, and creator and producer of the Discovery Channel special Cracking the Con Games.

"Jamy Ian Swiss is one of the great wonders of the world! Don't miss this show!"
-- Lou Reed

According to post-modern magicians Penn & Teller, “Jamy Ian Swiss is the kind of guy you read about and just know can't exist in the real world. He makes one understand what a terrifying art form pure sleight of hand can be. He is James Bond with a deck of cards for a pistol!”
